About the 2026 Primary Division
Approved by the Guangdong Provincial Department of Education, this is one of the province-wide contests for primary and secondary students in the 2025–2028 cycle. 2026 is the launch year; themed “Science +”, it deeply integrates artificial intelligence (AI) with the earth sciences, letting pupils experience the dialogue between technology and nature in real-world scenarios.

2026 is a transition year: every track offers both a CBT and a paper version with identical content, difficulty and scores — only the presentation differs. AI virtual scenarios appear as static images / data tables on paper, with no effect on ranking.

The preliminary runs CBT and paper in parallel — one of five subject tracks; the on-site finals use “advanced subject (required) + elective (Geophysics / Geochemistry, one of two)”, integrating AI and raising difficulty.
